You don’t just get financial benefits, they give you access to unique inspirational programs that will impact you positively and lots more.
Taco Bell Foundation supports both, young people and team members through the Live Más Scholarship.
They also provide grants to youth education-based non-profit organizations nationwide and offer innovative, educational programming.
About Taco Bell Scholarship
In order to inform and motivate the next generation of American leaders, the Taco Bell Foundation knocks down barriers.
More than 4 million young people have been contacted by the Taco Bell Foundation since 1992, and it has given more than $110 million in Live Más Scholarships and grants to charitable groups that support young people’s preparation for education and the workforce.
The Live Más Scholarships for Consumers Program, the Local Grants Program, and educational initiatives are supported by donations gathered in Taco Bell restaurants across the United States as part of the Round-Up Program.
Franchise owners of Taco Bell provide funding for Live Más Scholarships for Restaurant Workers.
The Live Más Scholarship
The Live Más Scholarship was established by the Taco Bell Foundation in 2015 with the goal of empowering the next generation of dreamers, innovators, and creators in the country whose interests don’t fit the traditional “academic” or “athletic” qualifying criteria of traditional scholarship programs.
Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for the 2022 Live Más Scholarship Program, all applicants must fulfill each of the following requirements:
1. The applicant must be at least 16 years old and no older than 26 years old as of the last day of the program period and be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia (“D.C.”).
- If an applicant is a minor in his/her/their state of residence, they must receive parental consent from his/her/their parent/legal guardian to apply.
2. The applicant must be on track to enroll in or apply for a post-high school or post-secondary educational program that is accredited (including accredited two-and four-year colleges, universities, vocational-technical and trade schools).
3. The applicant must be prepared to cooperate with the Scholarship Management Company of the Taco Bell Foundation during the application and award processes.
4. This version of the program is not open to those who work for Taco Bell Foundation, Inc., Taco Bell of America, LLC, Taco Bell Corp. and its parent, subsidiaries of its parent, franchisees, licensees, or the advertising and promotion companies associated with this program.
5. Taco Bell restaurant employees can apply to the Live Más Scholarship for Restaurant Employees Program.
6. The applicant has not previously received a Live Más Scholarship.
- Prior Live Más Scholarship winners may apply to the Live Más Scholarship Renewal Program.

Application Process
Submit a video (2 minutes or less in length) that addresses these questions:
- What is your passion and how are you currently pursuing it?
- How do you plan to use your passion to uniquely make a positive change in your community or the world?
- How will your education help enable you to pursue your passion and make a change?
The duration of your video clip must be between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. Consider recording this video on your phone, computer, tablet, or any other MP4-capable device that you have access to.
It could be a cartoon, short film, or straightforward recommendation. This is not a contest to see who can make a better movie.
They simply want to know more about you, your passion, and your ideas for igniting change both locally and globally.
Live Más Scholarship Renewal Program
The Taco Bell Foundation launched the Live Más Scholarship Renewal Program in 2018 to keep assisting former beneficiaries in their academic endeavors.
Previous Live Más Scholarship winners who clearly demonstrate in a 2-minute video how they have advanced the pursuit of their interest since receiving a Live Más Scholarship are given scholarships.
Eligibility Requirements
The Live Más Scholarship Renewal Program is only available to people who completely satisfy the requirements listed below:
1. The applicant must be a citizen of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia, and they must reside in one of these countries.
2. The applicant must have earned a Live Más Scholarship before through either the Live Más Scholarship Program or the Live Más Scholarship Program for Restaurant Employees, and they must not have received all four Live Más Scholarships.
3. The candidate must be a current student in good academic standing at an eligible post-secondary institution in the United States or Washington, D.C., including accredited two- and four-year colleges, universities, and vocational-technical and trade schools.
4. Before the 2022 Selection Period, all previous program awards must have been used or severely depleted (75% or more).
5. The applicant must be prepared to cooperate with the Scholarship Management Company of the Taco Bell Foundation during the application and award processes.
Application Process
Submit a video (2 minutes or less in length) that answers the following questions:
- What is your passion and how are you currently pursuing it?
- How do you plan to use your passion to uniquely make a positive change in your community or the world?
- What steps have you taken to create this change since being awarded your Live Más Scholarship?
- How has your enrollment into post-secondary education helped you to develop your passion and make the change you want to see in the world?
Visit our website during the application time and click “Apply” after you’ve finished making your video. Fill out your details and submit your movie by following the on-screen directions.
You will be prompted to input an access code in order to finish the renewal application. In due time, access codes will be emailed to qualified renewal applicants. If you don’t receive the code, email us at [email protected].
Scholarship Award
The Taco Bell Foundation will present $5 million in Live Más Scholarships in 2021, of which $1 million will be given through our program for new applicants, $4.4 million through our renewal program for past beneficiaries, and $1.5 million through our program for Taco Bell store staff.
Selected candidates of the Live Más Scholarship will get renewal grants of up to $4.4 million in 2022.
Depending on available funds and as determined by the Taco Bell Foundation (Sponsor) in its sole discretion, scholarships worth more or less than the aforementioned $3,000,000 may be given out.

Selection Process
Each program year will have a single application, selection, and award period. These dates are:
Between two months from the application date at 5:00 p.m. PST, applicants should submit applications.
For 2024; April 27, 2023, through January 12, 2024, was the selection period.
Period of notification: On or around April 27, 2023, recipients of the Live Más Scholarship for Restaurant Employees Program will be notified.
To assist our Taco Bell team members in pursuing their own educational aspirations, the Taco Bell Foundation established the Live Más Scholarship for Restaurant Employees in 2016.
