About Oakland Promise Scholarship
Funding for the Oakland Promise scholarship is provided by the Oakland Promise organization.
The Oakland Promise Oakland Promise, a member of the NCCPC, works with Oakland people from birth to college and career.
They provide financial help, educational programs, mentorship, and support to make sure that every young learner succeeds in high school, college, and their career.
They like incorporating the Oakland neighborhood in initiatives to support economic and social mobility from early childhood to college and career success.
Their objective is to build an educationally accessible, thriving community in Oakland.
Oakland Promise is available to all young learners in Oakland, from newborns to college students (OP).
Every child is given by OP the resources they need from birth through their school years, including the money, support, mentorship, and incentives they need to pursue and excel in the higher education and job of their choosing.
Four primary cradle-to-career programs that OP gives services through address each stage of a young person’s development:
- Brilliant Baby
- Kindergarten to College
- College Access
- College Completion
Through these initiatives, OP provides students with access to 529 college savings plans, Early College Scholarships, two- to four-year college scholarships, financial counseling for parents and students, college-building culture programs, and essential resources to help them build a strong sense of self-determination and persistence.
