About FEEA Scholarship

Almost 11,000 people have received scholarships from the FEEA since 1986.

This includes approximately 200 kids of federal civilian workers who perished in the Pentagon attack on September 11, the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, and the US embassies and consulates in Kenya, Tanzania, and Libya, or were seriously hurt while carrying out their responsibilities.

Each year, FEEA awards merit-based scholarships to hundreds of students and encourage them to pursue further education.

Scholarships for one academic year at an accredited college or university might cost anywhere from $1,000 and $7,500.

Regardless of whether they have previously been successful in winning a scholarship, applicants may apply each year they are eligible even though the scholarship cannot be awarded again.

The majority of scholarships go to undergraduate study, with a few prizes for graduate study scattered here and there.

Eligibility for the FEEA Scholarship

A candidate must meet the following requirements to be eligible for the FEEA scholarship:

1. Permanent full- or part-time civilian employees of the federal or postal services.

2. Children or permitted dependents of federal civil servants or postal workers employed full- or part-time permanently. Dependents must be younger than 25 and still rely on their sponsor for support.

3. Spouses of full- or part-time, permanent civil servants in the government or postal service.

4. Grandchildren of federal employees who are members of the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), Professional Managers Association (PMA), or Blacks in Government (BIG).

5. Grandchildren and great-grandchildren of current National Active and Retired Federal Workers Association members (NARFE). Only high school seniors may apply to NARFE.

Documents Required for the FEEA Scholarship

If you want to be considered for this scholarship, you must submit the following paperwork:

1. Complete copies of one’s high school or college transcripts (unofficial transcripts accepted)

2. An essay

3. A list of one’s achievements, accolades, and extracurricular activities

4. A copy of the most current SF-50 from the employer sponsoring federal employees (not required for retired NARFE members)
