Golden Door Scholarship provides large college scholarships for undocumented students, the real value is in our career support programs, mentorship, programming, and community building. As a Golden Door Scholar, every student who is a Golden Door Scholar has access to mentorship all year long.
Mentors assist students in choosing their career routes and build beneficial relationships with professionals in related fields.
Golden Door Scholarship Benefit
The Golden Door Tech Fellowship, the Summit, financial workshops, community-building opportunities, and many other programs serve as examples of programming.
The Tech Fellowship is a paid summer program where students can develop their coding skills and teamwork while building websites.
We meet together as a group just once a year for the Golden Door Summit, a memorable and enjoyable community-building event.
Community building is crucial to the success of Golden Door Scholars, and we firmly believe our supportive community makes us who we are.

What to Expect With Golden Door Scholarship
For the New Scholarship Recipients after receiving the Golden Door Scholarship:
1. Students can expect to hear from us shortly after to start onboarding. During onboarding, students will hear all about our scholarship program, including;
- How partnerships work
- The matching process,
- Programming and upcoming events, where they need to apply to ensure they will be matched with a partner school and what will be expected of them as a Golden Door Scholar
2. Throughout the application process, Golden Door Scholars and students will work together to ensure that students have applied to a broad range of schools and that they have applied to enough partner schools.
3. After students have been matched with schools, they will enroll and follow all of the schools’ instructions.
For students at non-partner colleges and those staying at current universities, Golden Door will work with them individually to determine the next steps.
All students at partner schools and non-partner schools must be matched before enrolling for the fall semester.
4. At the end of the summer, before the fall semester begins, all new students will participate in Thrive! Thrive is a program designed for new scholars to get to know each other and learn about what to expect in their first year as Golden Door Scholars.
5. Each student will be assigned a Student Career Coach who will meet with them regularly at 1:1 to help them along their career path, provide connections, networking opportunities, and resources, and be a listening ear for anything else that’s on their mind throughout the school year.
The primary goal of the student career coach is to set students up for career success.
6. Each year, students are invited to annual programming. Examples of programming include the Golden Door Tech Fellowship, the Golden Door Summit, Thrive, Ignite, financial workshops, resume, cover letter, LinkedIn workshops, and networking events.
All of these programs are designed to connect students to each other and prepare them for high-earning and sustainable careers.

Eligibility Requirements
What should you should know:
1. If you have DACA, TPS, or are undocumented, meaning currently do not have lawful status in the US.
Note: if you are a current US citizen or permanent resident, you are not eligible to apply. If you are a visa holder, please elaborate on your visa type and whether you are eligible to receive federal funding and/or in-state tuition in your application below. If you aren’t sure whether you’re eligible, email [email protected]
2. If you are currently in high school or graduated from a United States high school or obtained a GED (General Education Development) certificate from the United States Program.
3. If you are willing to apply to or attend one of the Golden Door Scholars Partner Schools.
4. If you are willing to explore and apply for other scholarships in addition to the Golden Door Scholarship.
What you Need:
1. Your high school and/or college transcript.
2. Your class rank and class size if available.
3. Information about leadership and extracurricular activities.
4. An essay – you can use one written from one of your college applications or use one of the prompts from The Common Application.

‣ The application deadline: is Sunday, 23rd October 2024 at 11:59 pm EST
• Applications will be considered on a rolling basis, so applying early is helpful
