About New Era University

The New Era Educational Institute (NEEI), which opened as a high school on June 17, 1975, was first situated on Echague (now Carlos Palanca Street), Quiapo, Manila.

It was recognized as a private, non-stock, non-profit, non-sectarian educational institution in 1977 after successfully completing the criteria of the Corporation Law.

After obtaining collegiate status from the Ministry of Education, Culture, and Sports (MECS) and awarding degrees to 12 collegiate graduates, it was renamed New Era College (NEC) in 1981.

The NEC was given ‘University’ status by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in 1995, nine years after the opening of its permanent structure in New Era, Quezon City. adopting the name New Era University as a result.

NEU remains steadfast in its pursuit of providing access to non-traditional higher education and early childhood education programs.

It teaches different programs through its five campuses, NEU General Santos City, NEU Pampanga, NEU Quezon City (Main), and NEU Rizal.

The institution also holds its graduation ceremonies at the Philippine Arena in Ciudad de Victoria, Bulacan, which is the largest indoor arena in the world.

Its more than 15 colleges allow it to fulfill its mission of providing courses that are sensitive to current requirements.

Law student scholarship program

Summa Cum Laude

  • 100% tuition discount (FULL, including miscellaneous fees)
  • Pl0,000.00 book allowance per semester
  • P3,000.00 monthly allowance

Magna Cum Laude

  • 100% tuition discount (miscellaneous fees not included)
  • Pl0,000.00 book allowance per semester
  • P2,500.00 monthly allowance

Cum Laude

  • 100% tuition discount (miscellaneous fees not included)
  • Pl0,000.00 book allowance per semester
  • P2,000.00 monthly allowance

The NEU-LAW Scholarship Program shall be automatically renewed every academic year. Provided, however, that the student must maintain a GWA not lower than 1.75 and grades not lower than 2.25 in all of his or her full-load subjects in a given semester.

Otherwise, the student shall be deemed disqualified from the NEU-COL Scholarship Program. The student must have no violation of the NEU Student Code of Discipline.

Academic Excellence Scholarship Program (DEAN’S LIST)

For the Top Five (5) Students with a GWA of not lower than 1.75 (with not lower than 2.25 grade in all subjects) a semestral book allowance shall be given from the personal account of COL-Dean (Dean’s List):

  1. PhP 5,000.00 with Certificate of Excellence
  2. PhP 4,000.00 with Certificate of Excellence
  3. PhP 3,500.00 with Certificate of Excellence
  4. PhP 3,000.00 with Certificate of Excellence
  5. PhP 3,000.00 with Certificate of Excellence
  6. Ranks 6-10 Certificate of Excellence only but the GWA shall not be lower than 2.0

Eligibility 

To be eligible for the Academic Excellence Scholarship Award (Dean’s List), the law student:

  1. Must not be a NEU-COL Scholarship grantee;
  2. Must have a GWA not lower than 1.75 for two consecutive academic semesters in a given School Year;
  3. Must have obtained grades not lower than 2.25 in the subjects covered by said academic semesters;
  4. Must actively participate in the activities of the College;
  5. Must submit all the requirements for scholarship application;
  6. Must have enrolled with a full academic load per semester
