FIU USA Presidential Merit Awards: All interested students are urged to apply. The school is now taking applications for the 2024–2025 academic years.

FIU USA Presidential Merit Awards

The scholarship is open to qualified international, U.S. citizens, and permanent residents who are enrolled in Florida International University’s bachelor’s programs.

Applicants must have an ACT or SAT score of 30 and a GPA of 4.0 in order to be accepted. The full cost of tuition and textbooks will be covered by the scholarship.

The Presidential Merit Scholarship

Only qualified U.S. citizens,  permanent residents, and international students are eligible for the Undergraduate Admissions Presidential Scholarship.

Students must be accepted to FIU by November 15, 2024, for Early Fall/Fall 2024 to be considered for academic merit scholarships.

To give the application enough time to be processed, students are highly advised to submit a finished admissions application by October 15th.

Note: Applicants must have test scores sent directly to FIU when they register for the SAT or ACT so the scores can be received by the university in time for scholarship consideration. November 5, 2024, SAT/October 22, 2024 ACT are the last test dates that will be considered for scholarship eligibility; all other supporting credentials and a completed application should already be received by the scholarship application deadline.

To be considered, students must submit a completed scholarship application no later than December 1, 2024. A complete application includes having received the required two letters of recommendation by this date.

Scholarship Award: 100% tuition, fees plus books.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible Countries: Citizens of the United States, permanent residents, and international students may apply.

Eligible Course or Subjects: Students may apply for any undergraduate degree program offered by Florida International University.

Eligibility Criteria: To qualify, applicants must satisfy all of the following criteria:

1. The applicants must be enrolled in high school, making the usual progress toward graduation, and intending to enroll full-time in college after high school.

2. The candidate must be an F-1 foreign student or a citizen of the United States who intends to study in the country as a legal permanent resident.

3. The candidates must fulfill the minimal criteria for the scholarship.

4. Candidates need to have a GPA of 4.0. (weighted).

5. A minimum SAT score of 1370, an ACT score of 30, or graduation from Florida high school in the top 5% are requirements for applicants.

How to Apply

You must submit your admissions application through the university portal at FIU. To apply there, you must sign in.

Documents to Back It Up: The following items must be given to the university by the students:

  • Declaration Financial Statements Instructions
  • Passport copy
  • Report cards from high school

Requirements for admission: Applicants must meet any course-specific university requirements.

The students must send in the results of one of the following English tests:

  • TOEFL iBT – 80
  • TOEFL PBT – 550
  • IELTS – 6.5
