LIC Scholarship

The Life Insurance Corporation of India, a state-owned insurance group and investment organization in India, is providing financial support for deserving students from economically disadvantaged areas who want to pursue higher education through the LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2023–2024. The chosen applicants will get up to ₹40,000 annually.

Eligibility Criteria

In order to qualify, a candidate needs to:

General Scholarship

1. Have successfully completed the Class 10 or 12 test (or a regular/vocational equivalent) or diploma in the academic year 2022–2023

2. Possess at least a 60% grade (or comparable)

3. Pursue postsecondary education in the form of industrial training institute (ITI) courses or vocational/diploma courses at a college or institution recognized by the government.

4. Own an annual total income from all sources of no more than ₹2,50,000 for parent(s) or guardian(s).

Special Scholarship for Girl Child

1. Having completed the Class 10 (or equivalent) exam during the 2023–2024 school year.

2. Possess at least 60% of the possible points (or a comparable grade)

3. Be pursuing advanced education in vocational, diploma, intermediate, or (10+2) pattern courses at a government-approved college, institution, or program in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) over a period of two years

4. Own an annual total income from all sources of no more than ₹2,50,000 for parent(s) or guardian(s).

Benefits

Under the General Scholarship

Students who want to study medicine at a higher level would get ₹40,000 a year. Subject to eligibility, this sum is awarded in three payments of ₹12,000, ₹2,000, and ₹16,000 during the course of the academic year.

₹30,000 will be given annually to students who are enrolled in engineering-related postsecondary education programs. Subject to eligibility, this sum is awarded in three payments of ₹9,000, ₹9,000, and ₹12,000 during the course of the academic year.

The Special Girl Child Scholarship Program

Qualifiable female students will be awarded ₹15,000 annually, which will be paid out in three installments of ₹4,000 twice and ₹6,000 once, for a total of two years.

Courses taken at government-approved universities, colleges, or Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) are eligible for this support.

Selection Criteria

Scholarship candidates will be chosen on the basis of merit, taking into account both gender and qualifying requirements.

Twenty of the first thirty students to be shortlisted—ten male and ten female—will receive General Scholarships.

Furthermore, ten women will be chosen to receive the Special Scholarship for Girl Child. The Divisional Office will make the ultimate decisions on the distribution of scholarships.
