About Veritas University
Veritas University is a private university in Abuja, Nigeria. The Catholic Church in Nigeria has established it in March 2002.
The National Universities Commission granted the institution a temporary operating license in 2007, and it began accepting students in October 2008 at its take-off campus in Obehie, Abia State, Nigeria.
Veritas University Abuja (VUNA), commonly known as the Catholic University of Nigeria, was established by a decision passed by the Catholic Bishops Conference of Nigeria during its March 2002 conference in Abuja.
The proposal sprang from the attending Bishops’ desire for a university that would deliver high-quality higher education in accordance with Catholic Church tradition.
The National Universities Commission granted the institution a temporary operating license in 2007, and it began accepting students in October 2008 at its take-off campus in Obehie, Abia State, Nigeria.
It relocated to its permanent location in 2014, with its campus currently located in the Bwari Area council of the Federal Capital Territory of Abuja, Nigeria.
The University places a premium on moral principles, self-sufficiency, and the development of students’ entrepreneurial skills for the social and economic benefit of graduates and Nigerian society.

Veritas University Admission Requirements
Applicants who have chosen Veritas University as their preferred university must satisfy the following requirements.
A) WAEC, NECO, NABTEB: Five (5) credits at not more than two (2) sittings, including the English Language for all courses. For example:
- For B.A. English and Literary Studies, a credit in Literature-in-English is required.
- For B.A. History and International Relations, a credit in History or Government is required.
- For B.Sc. In accounting, a credit in Mathematics is required.
- For B.Sc. Applied Microbiology, a credit in Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology is required.
- For B.Sc. Economics, a credit in Mathematics is required.
- For B.Sc. Industrial Chemistry, a credit in Chemistry and of Physics, Biology, and Mathematics is required.
- For B.Sc. Marketing and Advertising, a credit in Mathematics is required.
- For B.Sc. Political Science and Diplomacy, a pass in Mathematics is acceptable.
- For B.Sc. Physics with Electronics, a credit in Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry or Biology is required.
