About LAUTECH
The Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), is a first-class, one-of-a-kind institution of higher learning. It is an independent public university in Nigeria that provides liberal higher education and research.
The university was founded on April 23, 1990, as the Oyo State University of Technology, Ogbomoso, under the former Oyo State (OSUTECH).
The name of the university was changed to the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso. This was when the Osun State was formed out of the Old Oyo State in 1991. (LAUTECH).
The states of Oyo and Osun jointly held the University. However, until November 20, 2020, when it became entirely owned by the state of Oyo because of a mutual agreement between the two states.
