Dell Scholarship | Eligibility And Non-Monetary Support

Are you a college-bound high school senior seeking financial aid to pay for your higher education? If yes, consider applying to the Dell Scholars Program! To graduate from college, more than just financial help is required.

That’s why the Dell Scholarship program was created to help students overcome obstacles while obtaining a degree.

Nonetheless, we understand that college expenses may be a considerable hardship for many students and their families.

Dell Scholarship Overview

The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation established the Dell Scholars Program in 1999 to help low-income students pursue a degree.

Each year, 500 students are chosen to be Dell Scholars and receive $20,000 to cover their college fees. In addition to the scholarship, Dell Scholars are eligible for a laptop, Chegg textbook credits, teletherapy access, and other privileges.

Dell Scholarship Eligibility

While we demand a 2.4 grade point average, the Dell Scholars program focuses on low-income, highly driven students who outperform their numbers and display a desire to excel despite personal barriers.

The ideal candidate will display a distinct “GPA” of grit, potential, and desire in their pursuit of a college education.

Grit – overcoming personal problems in their life relating to their families, schools, or communities.
Potential – by engaging in college-ready programs and seeking academic rigour.
Ambition – by preparing oneself and arranging for their ambition of graduating from college.

Scholarship Criteria

Participate in a program-approved college preparedness program in grades 11 and 12.
Be on track to graduate from an accredited high school during the current academic year.
demonstrate a need for financial support.
Be qualified to earn a Federal Pell Grant during the first year of college.
Plan to enrol full-time in an authorized higher education institution to pursue a bachelor’s degree in the fall immediately after high school graduation.
Earn a minimum of 2.4 GPA.

Non-Monetary Support

Non-monetary support (in addition to scholarships) includes:

Personalized, multidimensional help for the academic, financial, and emotional life issues that may prevent students from finishing college.
A laptop with a four-year warranty.
Chegg credits ($500 per year for four years) can be used for textbook purchases, rentals, and/or textbook answers (via Chegg Study).
A Scholars Resource Network that connects students and their families with services to deal with stress, debt, child care management, and life circumstances.
A teletherapy program links students to expert counselling.

Eligibility Requirements

5 minimum GPA
An application form is necessary.

Must be American Indian or Alaskan Native.
Must be an Asian/Pacific Islander.
Must be Black or African American.
Must be Hispanic or Latina.
Must presently be in high school.
The type of institution award is available to A four-year college
