About the United Negro College Fund Scholarship
United Negro College Fund (UNCF) Scholarships provide an extraordinary amount of scholarship opportunities for minority students with financial need.
Scholarships include educational assistance for students attending participating Historically Black Colleges or Universities (HBCU) and other colleges as well
Each scholarship program has its own eligibility criteria, deadlines and application requirements.
Most scholarships require students to have a grade point average of 2.5 or better and to demonstrate financial need; however, certain scholarships may need higher GPAs and other criteria.
Some scholarships are also designated for students attending a UNCF-affiliated institution or university.
Eligible students can apply online using a generic application and be assigned to the relevant UNCF scholarship program. Some scholarship programs may need a separate application.
UNCF, recognized for its motto “A mind is a terrible thing to waste,” is a non-profit organization created in 1944 to assist students in attending college.
More than 400,000 students have received college degrees from UNCF-member schools.
