MEXT Scholarship

MEXT Scholarship Coverage
The MEXT Scholarship provides fully funded opportunities for international students to pursue free education in Japan. The following advantages will be given to the recipient of this scholarship:
1. Allowances: Preparatory Allowance, Monthly Stipend Allowance (2024 Rate)
2. Education Expenses: MEXT will cover the cost of the entrance exam as well as university tuition.
3. Travel-Related Costs: Travel to Japan: MEXT will pay for your return airfare from the country of origin to Japan. For the flight, the airline will be providing Economy class tickets.
4. Accommodations: Universities provide overseas students with residence halls.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must meet each of the requirements listed below in order to be eligible for the MEXT Scholarship:
1. English is the required language.
2. The nationality of a nation with diplomatic ties to Japan is a requirement for applicants.
3. A candidate who at the time of application held Japanese nationality is ineligible.
4. You must have finished 12 years of formal education or courses in a school equivalent to a high school (including future graduates) and be at least 17 years old and under 25.
5. You must be a college graduate (including aspiring graduates) and under 35 years old. Alternatively, you need to have finished 16 or 18 years of school.
6. You must be a recent college or teacher training college graduate and under 35 years old. You must have worked as a teacher in a primary, secondary, or teacher-training college in your nation for at least five years.
7. Applicants for Japanese study programs must be between the ages of 18 and 30. When applicants come to Japan, they must be enrolled as undergraduate students in departments or schools that specialize in Japanese language or culture at a university outside of Japan, and they must be enrolled at their home institution when they return to their home nations.
