About Coolidge Scholarship

The Coolidge Scholarship is an annual, full-ride presidential scholarship that pays for a student’s tuition, lodging, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study.

Recipients may utilize the Coolidge at any recognized American institution or university. This non-partisan, need-blind initiative is open to students from all backgrounds and academic disciplines.

Students apply for the Coolidge Scholarship in their junior year of high school. Finalists are flown in for a finalist weekend at the Coolidge Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, where they will meet with the Coolidge Scholars Jury.

Coolidge Scholarship recipients are notified of their award in late May of their junior year, before submitting their college applications.

Calvin Coolidge worked hard in school; the young New Englander’s sole pastime was public speaking, frequently on public policy.

The primary criterion that separates Coolidge Scholars is academic achievement. Secondary qualifications include a demonstrated interest in public policy, appreciation for Coolidge’s ideals, humility, service, and leadership.
