Transfer Scholarships: You are regarded as a transfer student if you drop out of one school to pursue your studies at another. So this scholarship is for you; learn more about it, and apply to save money on tuition and other fees.
A college student who has completed 12 or more credits at one institution but later drops out before completing their degree at another is known as a transfer student.
List of Transfer Scholarships
Transferring schools is widespread in the United States; it’s estimated that 37% of college students do it at least once during their time in school, and some even do so more than once.
Below is the list of scholarships for transfer students:
1. Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship
To honor outstanding academic and leadership performance among Phi Theta Kappa members wishing to transfer to Boston University, the Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship Program was created.
Advisors from Phi Theta Kappa chapters are welcome to suggest up to two candidates for this program. Candidates must have a minimum of 60 transferable credits and be ready to start their program as juniors.
Candidates must be citizens, lawful permanent residents, or qualified noncitizens of the United States. There may be up to five scholarship winners selected among the nominees. Each Phi Theta Kappa Scholar is given a scholarship worth $25,000.
The award is renewable for the following year provided that the student maintains a cumulative grade point average of 2.0, completes at least 12 credits each semester, and maintains good disciplinary standing.
2. Bunker Hill Community College Scholarship
Selected transfer students from Bunker Hill Community College (BHCC) who have been nominated by the college are given full-tuition scholarships by Boston University.
Candidates for this prize must have a BHCC GPA of at least 3.5 and have graduated from a Boston public high school.
Recipients are required to enroll at Boston University as juniors with at least 60 transferred credits. Only US citizens or legal permanent residents who are applying for the September term are eligible for this scholarship.
Nominations must be submitted to Boston University no later than March 1.

3. “Tuition Solution” Scholarship for STEM Students
Applicants must be Graduating high school seniors (including homeschooled students) planning on enrolling in a community college or four-year college/university to study a STEM field in the Fall of 2022 are all eligible.
Current college and graduate students working towards a STEM degree.
4. Niche $50,000 “No Essay” Scholarship
Niche is giving one student $50,000 to help pay for tuition, housing, books, and other educational expenses.
Who Can Apply
All high school and college students, as well as anyone looking to attend college or graduate school in the next year.
Please note: Not everyone is eligible for this scholarship. Niche-sponsored scholarships and sweepstakes are for people with US citizenship or a valid Visa/US passport only.

5. Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship
The Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship program was established by the government of Hungary to encourage the internationalization of Hungarian higher education and to draw top international students from around the world who can deepen personal and professional connections with Hungary while continuing to pursue a top-notch education in the heart of Europe.
With marketable skills and knowledge, the graduates can forge ties on the civic, political, and economic levels when they return to their home countries, enhancing Hungary’s reputation and international recognition.
Application Process
All applications shall be submitted through the online application system of Tempus Public Foundation. After registration, the applicants are able to access the application system and upload the required documents.
6. EDUFI Fellowship
The EDUFI Fellowship is intended, particularly, for providing initial funding to carry out research for a doctoral thesis in Finland.
We have attracted excellent young researchers to Finland with the fellowship, the majority of whom have also managed to secure further funding for their research.
Who can Apply and for whom?
You can apply for the fellowship grant if
- you work as a researcher or a teacher in a Finnish university department
- you will be hosting the research fellow
- you will commit to common objectives with the research fellow
- you will offer facilities and equipment for the use of the research fellow
- you will supervise the research.
You can apply for a fellowship for a non-Finnish post-graduate (post-master’s degree) student or a young researcher that you will invite to Finland or who has been in Finland for a maximum of one year before applying for the fellowship.
The EDUFI Fellowship is available to all foreign nationals and all fields of study.
Application Deadline
You can apply for the fellowship grant at any time. Please send the application to us at least five months before the planned start of the fellowship.
The application process will take about three months. Usually, about 35-40% of applications are approved every year. Decisions will be sent to the applicant’s university department.
Fellows will need the following documents for their visa/residence permit application
- a copy of the EDUFI fellowship decision
- an invitation from the host university department
7. FIDM National Scholarship Competition
US design scholarships from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM). Open to US citizens enrolling in fashion design, interior design, graphic design, visual design, or digital media at the FIDM in Los Angeles.

Application Process for Transfer Students
When applying to a new school as a transfer student, you’ll notice the process is different than when you filled out a freshman application at your previous school.
You will be requested to provide your previous college transcripts rather than your high school transcripts when you apply as a transfer student rather than as a new student (although some schools may ask for these, too).
The success at your prior institution will be more important to the admissions officers than your performance on standardized tests like the SAT and ACT.
The school may also require you to submit an application for your major in addition to your standard application, depending on how far along you are in your studies.
Many schools will want to hear your reason for transferring and why you think their institution will be a better fit, so be prepared to explain those questions.
Transfer student applications will have a separate deadline from freshman applications, so be sure to apply by the correct date.
