T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood | Overview
T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Wisconsin provides scholarships to early childhood educators to reduce the cost of credit-based education, enhance teacher remuneration, and boost early childhood educator retention.
Since its beginning in 1999, T.E.A.C.H. has had a significant influence on early care and education (ECE), granting thousands of scholarships to over 10,000 beneficiaries.
Scholarships help students finish credit-based early childhood education curriculum at the Wisconsin Technical College System, University of Wisconsin System, and private universities.

T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood Eligibility
To be eligible for the T.E.A.C.H. program, you must:
- Work a minimum of 25 hours per week directly with children as a teacher, assistant teacher, director, or assistant director in a licensed or YoungStar participating group child care program (OR).
- Work at least 25 hours per week as a family child care provider or employee in a registered or accredited family child care program.*
- Have assistance from your sponsored program.
- Have a diploma from a recognized high school**, or have obtained the GED
- Be employed by your sponsored program for at least three months.
- Live and work in Wisconsin.
- Plan to take credit-based courses at a Wisconsin-based college or university.
NOTE 1: To determine eligibility for part-time programs and those certified solely to serve school-age children, contact a T.E.A.C.H. counsellor.

Deadlines
The application dates for each semester are:
- July 1: Fall.
- November 1: Spring.
- April 1: Summer.
