The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) oversees the implementation of the government program known as the Pragati Scholarship.

Every year, 5,000 scholarships are awarded under this program to deserving female students who want to pursue technical education. The recipients of the scholarships receive ₹50,000 year.

Five thousand female scholars are awarded scholarships under the AICTE Pragati Scholarship. Below are the specifics of the Pragati Scholarship amount.

The chosen students receive a lump sum payment of ₹50,000 annually for each year of study toward:

  • Payment of college fees
  • Purchase of books
  • Purchase of equipment
  • Purchase of laptops and software
  • Purchase of desktops

Eligibility Criteria

Female applicants for the Pragati Scholarship must be enrolled in courses at colleges or universities recognized by the AICTE. The following contains the specific eligibility requirements for the AICTE Pragati Scholarship.

The centralized admissions process of the State/Central Government must be used to admit applicants to the first or second year (via lateral entry only) of the technical diploma/degree program at a college or institute that has been approved by the AICTE for the current academic year.

The award is open to applications from two female members of each family.

The applicant’s family income for the previous fiscal year could not have exceeded ₹8,00,000 annually. (Note: If the applicant is married, the higher of the applicant’s parents’ or in-laws’ incomes is taken into account.)

How to Apply

AICTE permits applicants to complete the Pragati scholarship application form via the NSP Portal in order to facilitate the application process. To fill out the application, adhere to the instructions indicated below.

1. Initially, the candidates must click the “New Registration” button to register on the NSP Portal.

2. To finish the registration, carefully read the instructions and complete all the fields.

3. The applicants will receive an application ID and password on their registered mobile number upon successful registration.

4. In order to complete the Pragati application form, candidates must now log in to the NSP Portal with their application ID and password.

5. It will be required of the applicants to reset their password.

6. The scholarship application form must then be completed by the applicants.

7. The application form must be submitted, and the candidates must provide scanned copies of the necessary paperwork.

Documents Required

The Pragati Scholarship application form requires the applicants to have a few documents on hand when filling it out. To finish the application procedure, candidates need to upload scanned copies of the following files.

1. Aadhaar card

2. Applicant’s passport-size photo

3. Signature of the candidate

4. Class 10 marksheet

5. Class 12 mark sheet

6. Annual family income certificate of the preceding financial year in the prescribed format by the Tehsildar or above competent Authority

7. Admission letter issued by the Centralized Admission Authority to first-year Degree/Diploma programs for the current academic year

8. Receipt of paid tuition fee for the current academic year

9. Aadhaar-seeded bank passbook showing the applicant’s name, account number, IFSC code and photo pasted at an appropriate place duly signed by the Manager with a rubber stamp of the bank affixed on it

10. Certificate issued by the Director/Principal/HOD as per the prescribed format

11. Attested copy of caste certificate, in case the applicant is applying for SC/ST/OBC category

12. A duly signed declaration by parents as per the prescribed format which states that the information provided by the applicant is correct and the scholarship amount would be refunded in case any false information is found at any stage

Terms and Conditions

The candidates need to be aware of a few terms and conditions. The rules and conditions for the Pragati Scholarship are listed below.

1. The only students eligible to apply for this grant are those who started their degree or diploma program in the current academic year as first-year students.

2. When filling out the application, the applicant must provide scanned copies of their passport-size photo and signature in JPG or JPEG format. The signature should not exceed 50 kb in size, and the photo file size should not exceed 200 kb.

3. It is not possible for students admitted through the management quota to apply for the AICTE Pragati Scholarship.

4. Candidates need to have a bank general savings account. They cannot use the FRILL/Minor/Joint account.
