PEO Postgraduate Scholarship: This scholarship’s main objective is to support international women students who wish to pursue graduate studies in the US or Canada. So if you are interested, don’t be in a hurry, carefully read to the end. 

PEO Postgraduate Scholarship In 1949, the International Peace Scholarship Fund was created. The scholarship is based on demonstrated need and is not intended to cover all living or educational costs.

At the time of application, the applicant must make clear any additional funds she has access to that are sufficient to meet her expenses.

A few examples of additional resources include personal and family funds, tuition waivers, work scholarships, teaching assistantships, study grants, and other scholarships.

A student is eligible to receive up to $12,500. Smaller amounts may be given out due to individual needs.

Scholarship Eligibility

1. The P.E.O. International Peace Scholarship Fund provides financial assistance to women from outside the United States and Canada who are pursuing advanced degrees at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada in the expectation that recipients will use their education to make a positive contribution and advance world peace upon their return home.

2. To qualify for her first award, an applicant must still have a full academic year of coursework to complete, be enrolled, and live in the same residence for the whole of the academic year.

3. Doctoral students who have completed their studies and are only concentrating on their dissertations are not eligible to apply as first-time candidates.

4. International Cottey College students are encouraged to apply for scholarships.

5. A student who is a citizen or permanent resident of the  United States or Canada is not eligible. Note: A student with residency for tax purposes only is permitted.

6. Scholarships are not given for online courses, research, internships, or practical training if not combined with coursework.

Deserving women from other countries can receive scholarships through the International Peace Scholarship Fund, a program that was established in 1949 and allows them to pursue graduate degrees in the US and Canada. The Eligibility Period runs from September 15-December 15 every year.

Applications for students already enrolled in school are due February 1. Those not yet enrolled are due March 15.
