How to Use a Scholarship
CCS Central 2 provides scholarships to eligible families to pay all or part of their childcare fees. The scholarship states:
- The Scholarship Rate is the portion of the childcare expenditures that the state pays for the family.
- The Family Co-Payment is the amount that the family is expected to contribute according to state regulations.
Families take the Scholarship to a Maryland EXCELS-approved childcare facility. The Scholarship is a formal agreement between the state, the provider, and the parent.
The Scholarship was returned to CCS Central 2 for processing. The family is responsible for paying the State-assigned co-payment and any amounts not covered by the Scholarship directly to the childcare facility.
Once the kid begins to care, the childcare provider files an invoice for payment, which is subsequently reimbursed by the State for the scholarship component of the payment.
