About Moshood Abiola Polytechnic (MAPOLY)

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, or MAPOLY, is a tertiary education school in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Nigeria. The Ojere campus is located in the south-eastern section of Abeokuta and has around 960 hectares of undulating ground limited to the south by the Ogun River.

It is named after Nigerian President Moshood Kashimawo Olawale Abiola, who was elected but unable to take office in 1993.

During the military rule of Harris Eghagha, the polytechnic was legally created in 1980 as Ogun State Polytechnic, but they accepted the first class of 220 students in January 1979.

The Polytechnic began on two temporary campuses, Oke-Egunya and Onikolobo, before relocating to Ojere between April 1985 and March 1988.

The student population in the 2004-2005 term was 18,878, with about  520 academic and non-academic staff.

MAPOLY ND Admission Entry Requirements.

1. To be eligible for the Post-UTME test and admission screening procedure, candidates must meet the MAPOLY cut-off mark and the courses to be provided.

2. Candidates must have obtained at least 5 credit passes in relevant courses, including English Language and Mathematics, at the GCE O’level, WASSCE, SSCE, NECO, NABTEB, or recognized equivalents in no more than two (2) sittings.

3. Applicants must be at least sixteen (16) years old in the admission year.

4. Before getting admitted, you must meet the department and faculty criteria at Moshood Abiola Polytechnic.

MAPOLY HND Admission Entry Requirements.

The following fundamental conditions must be satisfied for an applicant to be considered for admission to the institution at the HND level;

1. A potential Higher National Diploma applicant must have a minimum credit (CGPA) of 2.50 in their National Diploma in the applicable ND Programme.

2. A National Diploma in the same curriculum with at least a lower credit pass in the appropriate program of study and at least one-year post-ND relevant industry training experience is required for entrance to the Higher National Diploma program.

3. An applicant must also fulfill the entrance requirements for the ND program in addition to the requirements listed above.

4. Candidates with a passing grade and a minimum of two years after qualification experience in the particular sector may be considered in rare situations.

5. A minimum of twelve (12) months of supervised industry experience is required, as well as five (5) credit passes in applicable O-Level courses in no more than two sittings.

6. Admission to all HND programs at the university, particularly for potential candidates from other universities, requires a transcript.
