League of Legends is an online gaming scholarship that gives all deserving students the same chance to earn a specific amount of money to pay their tuition.

As part of their commitment to aid students in resolving financial difficulties, several educational schools participate in this beautiful Scholarship program.

We will, however, limit our selection to a few universities that make sure their students receive the League of Legends Scholarship.

List of Universities that Support League of Legends Scholarship

You can get a scholarship for playing LoL (League of Legends Scholarship) while in high school, college, or university.

Below is a rundown of institutions that support this scholarship, you can apply from any of them:

1. Indiana Tech Esports

The first university in Indiana to offer scholarships to League of Legends players is Indiana Tech Esports, which has been doing so since 2017.

They expanded their eSports scholarship program over time by adding Hearthstone and Overwatch.

The potential applicants must be prepared to attend the Indiana Institute of Technology for the academic year 2023–2024.

They have 20 high-end gaming PCs, DXRacer chairs, and Razer gaming accessories in their gaming arenas.

2. The University of Akron eSports scholarship

The University of Akron offers a $1000 scholarship to varsity members who play LoL or any other games supported by the institution.

UA’s varsity teams compete against other universities in League of Legends, and the winners are rewarded.

There are many benefits to being part of their eSports teams; you get access to exclusive training facilities with state-of-the-art gaming PCs, physical fitness training, etc.

1. You must be an incoming freshman or a high school student willing to study at the University of Akron.

2. You are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5

3. The University of Pikeville

One of the higher educational institutions in the US that honors and awards League of Legends players is this university in Kentucky.

When eSports were unheard of, the University of Pikeville began this program in December 2015. It is supported by Dxracer, Asus, Ibuypower, and Steelseries.

Scholarship Eligibility Requirements

1. You must be willing to study at the University of Pikeville

2. You are expected to be an above-average player in the League of Legends

3. A completed Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is required

How to Apply

Contact the University of Pikeville eSports team, explaining who you are and your achievements in the game regarding ranks, position, badges, etc.

Fill up an application for undergraduate admission to the University of Pikeville and list eSports as one of your hobbies there.

On the university’s athletic website, complete the Prospective Athlete form. Don’t forget to choose Esports and enter your summoner name or League of Legends username.

To apply for financial aid at the University of Pikeville, you must submit a completed FAFSA form.

4. Boise State University

Scholarships are available to members of the Boise State University League of Legends team.

The squad will be chosen from among the incoming and current students at Boise State, and it will have 10 to 16 players.

1. You must maintain grades and academic performance

2. You must be a current or incoming full-time Boise State student

3. You must be willing to attend selected matches and team practices

4. You are expected to maintain competitive preparation and readiness

5. Henderson State League of Legends Scholarship

Henderson State University is the first in Arkansas to offer scholarships and dedicated funding for esports.

They support League of Legends and other games like Call of Duty, Six Siege, Valorant, etc. Part-time students are not eligible to apply for this scholarship, and it’s worth about $2000 per year.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

1. You must be a current full-time student or an incoming HSU student (full-time)

2. You must have and maintain a 2.5 GPA.

3. Scholarship recipients must attend team practices and follow team guidelines.
