Kathmandu Metropolitan Scholarship

The Education Department of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Municipal Office, Kamaladi, Kathmandu, has issued a scholarship notice for students aiming to study in private schools under the scholarship quota in Class 11 for the academic session 2081/82.

The allocation will take place in the private schools within Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Students are advised to enrol only after the scholarship results are announced. Please note that students who enrol before the results are released will not be eligible for the scholarship.

  • Online Application Open: 2081 Ashadh 15; 10 AM onwards
  • Online Application Close: 2081 Ashadh 29, 11:59 PM (Mid-night)
  • Scholarship Examination Date: 2081 Shrawan 4; 8 am to 10 AM.

Distribution of Scholarships Seats

Treating the 10% scholarship offered by institutional schools as the full amount, the scholarships will be distributed as follows:

  • 40% of students who have studied in community schools.
  • 5% for students who have studied in institutional schools on a scholarship.
  • 9% for all students who have permanent residency within Kathmandu Metropolitan City.
  • 1% of students residing in the landfill site-affected areas and studying in schools within that area.

Exam information: The exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions based on the Class 10 Secondary Level curriculum.

It will include 30 questions each from compulsory subjects like Mathematics, Science, and English, along with 10 questions from General Knowledge.

A minimum score of 40% is required to qualify for the scholarship. There will be no negative marking for incorrect answers. The exam will last two hours, and applicants can only apply to one program.

Eligibility Criteria

1. Eligibility criteria include a minimum GPA of 1.6 in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE).

2. Applicants must have completed SEE either from a community school or through a 10% scholarship in institutional schools.

3. Additionally, they must be permanent residents of Ward No. 1, 2, or 3 in the directly affected area of Landfield Side or Ward No. 1, 3, or 4 in Dhunibeshi Rural Municipality.

2. Recent passport-sized photo

3. Citizenship certificate or birth registration certificate

4. SEE or equivalent mark sheet and character certificate

5. Recommendation as per Schedule 1 for students studying in community schools

6. Recommendation as per Schedule 2 for students studying on scholarships in institutional schools

7. Certificate as per section 7 mentioned in the reserved group in the form for scholarship purposes

The recommendation format is attached at the end of this document. If any information provided is false, the candidate’s application will be cancelled, and they will be removed from the educational program.
