Each chosen candidate under the SHE initiative receives an annual stipend worth INR 80,000 to study science and technology and pursue a career in research.

The chosen applicants would get an annual scholarship worth INR 80,000. Selected students will get an annual payment of INR 60,000, and those who complete a summer research project will receive an additional INR 20,000 as a summer attachment fee.

Key Dates

Each year, the scholarship application period opens in the middle of October and closes at the end of December. The INSPIRE Scholarship for Postsecondary Education is now available. The table with the scholarship’s approximate dates can be found below.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants for SHE must have completed their coursework in Natural Sciences at the B.Sc. or Integrated M.Sc. level and passed Class 12. Complete details regarding the requirements to be eligible for this scholarship are provided below.

1. The candidate must be between the ages of 17 and 22.

2. The candidate’s cumulative score on the Class 12 board test must place him or her in the top 1% of graduating pupils.

3. In the year that they pass Class 12, the candidate must be enrolled in Natural and Basic Sciences courses at the BSc, BS, and Integrated MSc/MS levels.

4. Applicants who cleared the CBSE-Medical (AIPTM) and rank in the top 10,000 of the Joint Entrance Examination of IIT, AIEEE (top 20,000 rankers) and have chosen to pursue Natural/Basic Sciences are eligible.

5. Candidates who are accepted to the University of Mumbai’s Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Basic Sciences (DAE-CBS), National Institute of Science Education and Research (NISER), and Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research (IISER) for Natural/Basic Science courses leading to B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees are also eligible.

6. Candidates who are pursuing Natural/Basic Science courses leading to a B.Sc. or M.Sc. degree and who are KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojna), National Talent Search Examination (NTSE), Olympiad Medallists, and Jagadish Bose National Science Talent Search (JBNSTS) scholars are eligible.

Application Process

Through the INSPIRE Program’s online site, applications for the INSPIRE Scholarship for Higher Education (SHE) are accepted online. Detailed instructions for applying for the scholarship are provided below.

1. Applicants need to sign up on the INSPIRE scholarship site as first-time users.

2. Select “New User?” Sign up by clicking here. For their registration to be successful, candidates must submit their name, gender, date of birth, email address, password, qualifying requirements, and verification code.

3. They will receive a user ID and password on the email address they registered. To activate the accounts, click the activation link.

4. Store each required document’s scanned copy in a different file.

5. Proceed to the INSPIRE scholarship portal by entering their login credentials.

6. Now, complete the scholarship application form by entering all the necessary information about yourself, your enrollment for the B.Sc. and Integrated M.Sc. programs, your performance in senior secondary school, the national competitive exam information, your contact information, and other details.

7. To support your online scholarship application, upload all necessary supporting documentation.

8. Before submitting the form, check the supplied information by clicking the “Print Preview” button. They have to confirm that all the information and files uploaded are accurate.

9. To submit the application at this point, click the “Submit” button.

10. The candidates must print a copy of their completed online scholarship application for their records after submitting it in its final form.

1. Applicant’s passport-size photograph

2. Community/caste certificate in case the applicant belongs to OBC/SC/ST category

3. Class 12th mark sheet

4. Class 10th mark sheet or certificate (for proof of Date of Birth)

5. Certificate specifying rank/award in JEE (Main)/ JEE (Advanced)/ NEET/ KVPY /JBNSTS/ NTSE / International Olympic Medallists (if the candidate is eligible under this criterion)

6. Endorsement Form signed by the Principal of the College/Director

7. The first page of the applicant’s SBI bank passbook
