How to Back up Camera Roll to Snapchat

This is pretty easy to do on any Android, iPhone, or iPad, but the options can be kind of tricky to find. Once you know where to find them, backing up your camera roll photos to Snapchat is a piece of cake!

How to Back up Using Android

1. On your smartphone or tablet, launch Snapchat. The white ghost inside the yellow mark denotes it. Your camera screen will appear when Snapchat opens.

2. Select the Memories icon. At the bottom of the screen, to the left of the shutter button, are two overlapping images that represent it.

3. Touch Camera Roll. This button is located at the screen’s top for Memories. Despite the fact that Snapchat allows you to view your camera roll, you’ll see that there is a message at the top that reads, “Your Camera Roll isn’t backed up by Snapchat.”

4. To save an image to Snapchat Memories, tap and hold it. A menu will appear at the bottom after you tap and hold on to one image, and a checkmark will show up on the thumbnail. Tap additional image thumbnails to add checkmarks and backup additional images.

5. Select the Android7share.png export icon. The three-dot sideways “V” at the bottom of the screen is it.

6. On the menu, click the Snapchat icon. This simulates posting a Story while displaying the chosen image(s). You won’t have to make the pictures public, so don’t worry!

7. Click Save. It can be seen at the image’s bottom.

8. Save to Memories option. You simply need to save the pictures to Memories right now because they are already saved to your camera roll. This saves the chosen photo(s) to your Memories’ Snaps folder as a backup.

9. To reduce the image, tap the X at the top.

To view the photographs you have backed up, tap the Snaps tab. The upper-left corner is where it is. In this folder, Snapchat automatically backs up all of the photographs. The photographs in this folder will be there even if you remove and reinstall Snapchat.

How to Check Your Back-up Progress

Your pictures show up in the snaps once you’ve returned from the camera roll. From the Memories settings, you can view the status of the backup process. To completely back up memories, your phone must have either good cellular service or a reliable Wi-Fi connection. You may check the status of your Memories Backup using the instructions below on both an iPhone and an Android device:

  • Go to Settings on your profile.
  • Select Memories from the Snap Chat settings menu.
  • Find Progress on Backup

Check to see whether it reads Complete Backup progress displays Complete when no backup of memories is required. There will be a message that reads “No Internet Connection” or “#Snaps Remaining” if your memories are not completely saved up.
