Who Can Apply for the JAMB DE?

The direct entry form is intended for holders of NCE, ND, IJMB, JUPEB, Cambridge, or NABTEB Advanced, BSC, and HND who wish to continue their studies in their previous or related course at a university of their choice.

If you have completed or are about to complete your NCE, ND, IJMB, JUPEB, etc., you can apply for the JAMB DE form.

This form allows you to seek admission directly to the 200 or 300 level of your desired course at any university of your choice without writing the UTME.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board announced on Monday that registration for the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination and the Direct Entry Examination will begin as follows:.

  • Sale of 2024 Direct Entry (DE) application documents: Wednesday, February 28, 2024.
  • Deadline for the 2024 DE application: Thursday, March 28, 2024.

JAMB Direct Entry Eligibility

To be eligible for Direct Entry, you must meet certain academic requirements. This includes:

A minimum of a credit pass in five (5) SSSC subjects in no more than two sittings, including at least two specified subjects for each programme (course of study) at the principal or advanced level.

Two passes [in prescribed subjects for each (programme) course of study] at the A’Level Examination issued by IJMB, Cambridge, JUPEB, or the Institute of Baccalaureate, with three additional credit passes in the SSCE.

Credit passes in two major topics in the NCE with three other credit passes in SSSC, NTC/NBC (mostly for Education/Technical programmes)

Minimum credit grade in University/National Diploma or National Innovation Diploma with the necessary O’level criteria.

A special committee will verify all submitted Advanced Level Qualifications, and any falsified results will be prosecuted.

Below is how to apply for the 2024 JAMB Direct Entry:

Application Sales:

  • 2024 Direct Entry (DE).

Dates:

  • Wednesday, February 28, 2024—Thursday, March 28, 2024.

Location:

  • Board’s state and zonal offices.

Fees

  • UTME/DE. JAMB Application Fee: N3,500.
  • Reading text (2024 only) is free (QR code).
  • Fees for CBT centres include N700 for registration and N1,500 for examination services.
  • Bank charges are N500, while
  • The CBT Mock-UTME Centre charge is N1,500.
  • Group registration is not allowed

Registration Requirements:

  • A unique mobile phone number is required for registration and can only be used by one candidate.
  • National Identification Numbers (NIN) To submit, text “NIN” followed by your 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019.
Profile Code:
  • A 10-character code was obtained from the same phone number.
Phone Number Linking:
  • Used for all correspondence regarding 2024 and future applications.
Profile Code and e-PIN:
  • Bring these to any JAMB-accredited CBT Centre for registration.
Biometric and Photograph Capture:
  • Required to complete the application.
Self-Service Option:
  • Available to computer-literate applicants at JAMB offices/PRCs.

Examination Eligibility:

  • Only those who have passed biometric verification.
  • Biometric problems must be rectified at the JAMB National Headquarters in Abuja.

DE Candidate Information Requirements:

  • Previous school registration/matriculation number.
  • Subjects for qualifying.
  • Awarding institution.
  • The institution attended.

Important Direct Entry (DE) Registration and Admission Rules

DE Candidates With Completed Results:

  • Students must upload their A’level qualifications and O’level results while registering.
  • Upload the DE Registration Template.
Verification of Uploaded Results:
  • DE candidates must upload and verify their results on the JAMB platform (CAPS MAIL) for admission processing.

DE Candidates Awaiting Results:

  • DE Candidates awaiting A’level results (UMS/UPER/NABТЕB) should upload their Admission Letter and Registration Template during registration.

Cambridge Certificate Verification:

  • Verify pre-2018 Cambridge certifications by visiting Cambridge.
  • Verification can take up to 28 days; the results will be sent to the Board and displayed in the candidate’s e-Facility profile.

Statement of Results Validity:

  • Registration is accepted within 3 years of the award date.
  • Upgrade from UTME to DE is available for candidates with pending DE results upon registration.
  • Candidates must have mentioned that they were awaiting their A’level results when they registered.
  • The supplied registration template must include all relevant information.

Checking A’level Admission Status:

  • Candidates should constantly check their e-facility profile.
  • The status of A’level result verification will be displayed as “CLEARED” or “NOT CLEARED”.
  • Reasons for non-clearance, such as differences in name, grade, or subject, will be clearly mentioned.

Registration fee: 

  • $30 in local currency for each of the nine foreign countries.
