GKS Scholarship
Four scholarships for study or research at the Master’s or PhD level in Korean studies, the humanities, social sciences, natural sciences, engineering, and other fields of study are being offered by the Government of the Republic of Korea through the National Institute for International Education (NIIED).
Only universities included on the National Institute for International Education’s (NIIED) list of qualified universities are eligible to accept scholarships for study in South Korea. Candidates need to select a degree program from this list.

Since 1967, the Korean government has supported over 2,000 international students each year through scholarships, giving them access to education in 148 other countries.

Duration

Eligibility Criteria
Similarly, there are specific eligibility requirements for the Global Korea Scholarship in other scholarship programs. The prerequisites that Indian students must meet to be considered for the GKS Scholarship 2025 have been listed.
1. Need to be an Indian national
2. The applicant’s parents cannot be citizens of Korea.
3. A legitimate degree from an established college or university.
4. The maximum age should be forty years old.
5. To study in Korea, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health.
In addition, one of the following requirements must be met by the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of the complete curriculum from the preceding degree program:
- On a scale of 100, the score must be 80% or higher.
- If not, the score ought to be in the highest 20% in the class.
- The CGPA needs to be 2.64/4.0, 2.80/4.3, 2.91/4.5, or 3.23/5.0, or above.
Application Process
The 2024 GKS Application Form and the necessary supporting documentation must be filled out by applicants.
The application date is March 4, 2024.
