About Federal Polytechnic, Nekede
Federal Polytechnic, Nekede, is a Federal-Government established institution. It is located at Nedeke, in Owerri, Imo State, a South-Eastern geographical area in Nigeria.
Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri (FPNO), was formally known as “College of Technology, Owerri” which was established by the Imo State Government in 1978.
In 1993, Federal Government took over and named the institution “Federal Polytechnic, Nedeke”.
Federal Polytechnic Nedeke is an accredited institution, approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE), Nigeria.
Federal Polytechnic Nedeke, has created an opportunity for the working class. However, they operate ND/HND Full-time and Evening/Weekend programmes.

Admission Requirements into FPNO for ND
To gain admission into FPNO, for National Diploma (ND) Programmes, these are necessary:
- You must have scored at least 140 in your UTME
- You must have been screened, depending on your choice of course.
- You must have at least five (5) O’level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics. However, not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or NABTEB.
Also, NABTEB cannot be combined with WAEC or NECO. Therefore, NABTEB can only be combined with NABTEB, whereas WAEC can be combined with NECO.

Admission Requirements into FPNO for HND
If you are seeking admission to FPNO for HND Programmes, you must:
- Have at least five (5) O’level credit passes, of which English Language and Mathematics are compulsory. However, not more than two sittings in WAEC/NECO or NABTAB are allowed.
- Have a minimum of Lower Credit (CGPA 2.50) in your National Diploma Result.
- Have at least one or two years of National Diploma Industrial Training Experience
