Admission Requirements for Covenant University

Covenant University

Below, you will find both the JAMB requirement and O’Level subject combination required for each of the courses listed below.

Jamb Requirements

Reaching the JAMB UTME examination cut-off mark is one condition for candidates seeking admission to Covenant University. You verify that each of the courses you are applying for has the appropriate subject combination.

If you wish to study your course in the future, you will need to submit an application to JAMB. However, with JAMB/UTME Cut off Mark of at least 180, here are the courses and their requirements:

A. Requirements for Accounting:

Accounting is a four-year bachelor’s degree program. You must have at least five credit passes in each of the following O’Level subjects:

1. Mathematics,

2. English Language

3. Economics

4. And any two (2) Commercial, Social science, or Science Subjects.

B. Banking and Finance

Banking and Finance is a four-year program leading to a bachelor’s degree in science.

If you want to pursue a career in banking and finance, you’ll need at least five credit passes in the following O’Level subjects:

1. English Language

2. Mathematics

3. Economics

4. Any two (2) Commercial, Social science, or Science Subjects.

C. Business Administration

If you want to study Business Administration, you’ll need a minimum of five credit passes in the following O’Level subjects:

1. Mathematics

2. English Language

3. Economics

4. Any two (2) Commercial, Social science or Science Subjects.

D. Economics

If you want to study Economics, you must have a minimum of five credit passes in the following O’Level subjects:

1. Economics

2. English Language

3. Mathematics

4. Any two (2) Commercial, Social science or Science Subjects.

E. Marketing

If you want to study marketing, you must have a minimum of five credit passes in the following O’Level subjects:

1. Mathematics

2. English Language

3. Economics

4. Commerce

5. Anyone (1) Commercial, Social science or Science Subjects.

F. Industrial Relation and Human Resource Management

You must have at least five credit passes in the following O’Level topics if you want to study Industrial Relations and Human Resource Management:

1. Mathematics

2. English Language

3. Economics

4. Any Two (2) Commercial, Social science or Science Subjects.

G. Mass Communication

A bachelor’s degree in mass communication takes four years to complete. If you want to study Mass Communication (with the options of Journalism and Online Mass Communication and Broadcast), you’ll need five (5) credit passes in the following O’Level subjects:

1. English Language

2. Mathematics

3. Literature-in-English

4. CRS

5. Anyone (1) Commercial, Social science or Science Subjects.

H. Sociology

A bachelor’s degree in sociology takes four years to complete. If you want to study sociology, you must have a minimum of five (5) credit passes in the following O’Level subjects:

1. Mathematics.

2. English Language.

3. And any three (3) Commercial, Social Science or Arts Subjects in any of the following subjects;

  • History.
  • Economics.
  • Commerce.
  • Government.
  • Geography.
  • Mathematics.
  • Civic Education.
  • Literature-in-English.
  • Christian Religious Knowledge.

General O’Level Requirements

5 credit passes in SSCE/GCE O’Level/NECO/NABTEB courses or equivalent in not over 2 sittings are the standard requirements for admission to Covenant University.

Mathematics and English Language Use are required topics. Also, keep in mind that a certain college and/or department may have additional requirements.
