Burger King Scholarship |Overview
Through the BK℠ Scholars program, we’ve provided nearly $60 million in scholarships to over 51,000 deserving students across North America.
This scholarship aims to award one scholarship for every BK® restaurant, totalling more than $7 million annually.
Education is essential for success, and we support students in North America through our BK Scholars Program.
This flagship initiative of the Foundation honours the legacy of Burger King co-founder James W. McLamore, whose dedication to philanthropy and education made him a community service leader.
The program awards scholarships to deserving high school seniors, Burger King® employees, and their families to further their education.
Thanks to Jim’s legacy and the support of franchisees, the program has awarded $60 million in scholarships to over 51,000 students across North America since 2000.
Scholarships range from $1,000 to $60,000 and help offset the costs of attending college or post-secondary vocational/technical schools.
Recipients are chosen based on their GPA, work experience, extracurricular activities, financial need, and community service.
In 2024 alone, the Foundation awarded over $4.5 million in scholarships to nearly 4,200 students. Scholarship status updates were provided on Monday, April 20, 2024.
